A short hike crossing the main road and going up a charming hill will give you one of the best and most secluded views on Lake Yellowstone. Park at the West Thumb Visitor Center and follow the trail to the overlook, you might encounter pretty butterflies, elks and other wild flowers!
Count 30-35 min to get to the top. Coming down is much faster. And you can finish your visit by going closer to the lake and observe West Thumb’s volcanic area.
