Oklahoma and Route 66

Oklahoma was a big discovery. I didn’t expect anything from it, just because I didn’t really research anything. I just knew we would drive through Route 66, one of those names you always hear but never really know what it entitles. One of the original US Highways, Route 66 was established in 1926 and is linking Chicago to LA.

A few spots we stopped at in Oklahoma include : Oklahoma City, Edmonton, Arcadia, Lake Hefner and Lake Guthrie. All quite beautiful in their own way. We drank a soda at Pop’s, drove through the pretty streets of Edmonton, saw the Round Barn in Arcadia, the Us Capitol in OKC, walked to the lighthouse in Hefner and finally enjoyed some chill time at Lake Guthrie. A full couple days under 36 degrees C (97F) …

Stay tuned for our last stopover before New Mexico : Texas !

  1. Mmmmm…Reeds Ginger beer is great. I’ve never seen OK but have been on route 66. I stayed in some strange motel on Route 66, had a round bed and very loud refrigerator 🙂

Glad you are enjoying your trip. How do you stay cool at night in your van in 97 degree weather?
